During a sleepover, the fragile balance within a group of fifth-grade friends is disrupted by an unexpected event: one of them gets her first period. What should be a magical moment quickly turns into a heated argument, as the bond between Roberta and her best friend Francesca begins to crack. Overwhelmed by emotions she cannot yet name and by the physical pain of her first menstrual cramps, Roberta is suddenly confronted with the end of childhood. In the course of one night, she must say goodbye to both her innocence and her closest friend, surrendering to her first losses.
