Rosa Luxemburg was born in 1871 in Zamo\u015b\u0107, in what is now Poland, then part of the Russian Empire. From a young age she showed extraordinary intellectual abilities and a strong interest in politics. As a student she became involved in underground political movements that opposed authoritarian rule and social injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because of her activism, she was forced to leave Poland and moved to Switzerland, where she studied philosophy, economics, and law at the University of Zurich. There she developed the political ideas that would later make her one of the most influential socialist thinkers in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Powerful Political Thinker<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
