Domizia Tallone is a science communicator, museum guide at the Astronomical Museum of Rome, and a feminist and environmental activist. Despite her scientific background (a master\u2019s degree in astrophysics and cosmology) she continues to face economic insecurity. Her master\u2019s thesis explored the presence of women in science communication. Through interviews and data analysis, she found that women make up about 66% of the field in Italy, confirming international research that defines science communication as a feminized and undervalued profession. Women often occupy support roles, while public authority in science remains largely male. The profession is also underpaid and requires both scientific training and strong soft skills, making it inaccessible to many social groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tallone believes women bring gender and decolonial perspectives that can reshape how science is narrated and understood. She is passionate about science communication because it allows her to discuss science more freely and imagine a fairer distribution of scientific power. For her, feminism\u2019s greatest challenges include achieving true intersectionality and motivating men to engage in social change, especially within scientific institutions that still resist critical, transfeminist perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
