Call for Applications: WE Frame 48 Hour Short Film Challenge!

We are excited to launch the WE Frame 48 Hour Short Film Challenge, selecting 8 young European filmmakers to take part in an innovative creative experience combining cinema, social reflection, and the themes of equality, identity, and diversity.

Between March and April 2026, selected participants will join one of four in-situ workshops in Ferrara, each exploring a different perspective on equality. Based on these experiences, filmmakers will create an original short film within 48 hours, to be screened during the WE Frame Festival on 15–16 May 2026.

Who can apply?
Young filmmakers aged 18–30, citizens or residents of EU Member States or Programme-associated countries, with experience in the audiovisual field and interest in the themes of the project.

What we offer:
Workshops with accommodation, mentorship, participation in the final festival, networking opportunities, and dissemination of the films on the WE Frame platform.

Results: 15 February 2026
